This Privacy Policy explains how Octathorn Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of Athliix under Octathorn (octathorn.com), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Athliix mobile application (the "App").
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- Name and email address, provided via Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In.
- A unique account identifier created when you sign up.
Health & Fitness Data
Athliix is a fitness app, and as part of delivering its core features we access, collect, and store the following health and fitness‑related data:
- Step count — read from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Health Connect (Android). We only read your aggregated daily step total; we do not write data back, and we do not access any other health records (heart rate, workouts logged by other apps, menstrual data, etc.) on your device.
- Body & profile metrics — height, weight, date of birth/age, and weight-loss or fitness goals, collected during onboarding.
- Diet & nutrition data — meals logged manually or scanned via our AI Meal Scanner, plus calorie and water intake.
- Sleep data — sleep hours/quality you log manually for weekly progress tracking.
- Habit data — fitness and wellness habits you choose to track.
- Workout/exercise data — rep counts and workout completion results generated by on-device pose detection during camera-based workouts. Camera images and video are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded, recorded, or stored by us — only the resulting rep count and workout outcome are synced to our servers.
Device & Usage Information
- Device type, operating system version, and app version.
- A push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging / Apple Push Notification service) used to deliver notifications and chat messages.
- General usage data (features used, crash logs) to help us fix bugs and improve the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To power core app features: your dashboard, diet plan, step/sleep tracking, workout scoring, leaderboards, gym battles, and challenge results.
- To calculate your progress toward your stated fitness and weight goals.
- To deliver push notifications and enable in-app chat.
- To maintain and improve the App, including diagnosing technical issues.
Where you participate in competitive features (leaderboards, gym battles, challenges), your username, avatar, and performance stats are visible to other users you compete with or share a gym with. Your underlying health metrics (weight, diet logs, sleep) are not shared with other users.
3. Storage & Security
Your information is stored using Firebase (Google Cloud infrastructure), including Firebase Authentication, Firebase Realtime Database, and Firebase Cloud Messaging. Access is restricted through Firebase security rules.
We do not sell your health data, and we do not share your health or fitness data with third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Your Controls & Rights
- You can revoke Health Connect / HealthKit access at any time from your device's Health app or Health Connect settings. This stops future syncing but does not retroactively delete steps already synced to Athliix.
- You can edit or delete individual diet, sleep, and habit entries directly in the App.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → Delete Account.
- You can disable push notifications from your device's notification settings at any time.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account from within the App's settings, your data — including your profile, body metrics, diet logs, sleep logs, habit logs, and workout history — is immediately deleted from our systems.
6. Children's Privacy
Athliix is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
